The History of Diane R. Fatkin

As I look back at my life, I am happy to say that I have achieved greatness because I only did what made me happy and only worked for causes I believed in.

I never took my eyes off of my goals, since I truly believed that life is very short.

During my 35 years in the industry, I have been a part of many jobs and have become well-versed on all the different choices within the vacation industry.

Whether it is staying at a hotel, motel, a second home, camping in an RV, or even staying with friends/loved ones, I am well experienced in handling all these scenarios.

My four weeks of time sharing are by far the best experience.

My rewards in life have been great due to my early recognition that everyone just wants to achieve happiness. I would never do anything that I did not believe in nor would I ever do anything for money.

I lost my 19 year old brother in a car accident when I was 18 years old and that was when I learned that life is short.

I was working at the shore in New Jersey but knew that I had to come home and stay with my parents. I was hired with Pennsylvania Power & Light company as the first and only female because they had to fill their quota for women in 1974.

I became the first female construction worker, first female meter reader and the first female emergency dispatcher for Pennsylvania Power & Light company. I was tested many times and received five promotions in six years.

I am the granddaughter of a coal miner, so I knew the importance of work and dedication from an early age.

Throughout school, I was in an elite athlete and learned about teamwork and leadership.

During that period of time I went to college at night and on the weekends had two different jobs. I studied philosophy and psychology.

I was a waitress on Friday and Saturday nights and worked at a ski area during the day.

My days were filled with challenges, lessons and laughter. I was recognized as sincere, friendly and outgoing.

I met someone who told me to get my real estate license and I started land sales on the weekends in 1978.

I learned about time sharing during my time at the ski area after a someone asked me to buy a week of time sharing, which was something I strongly believed in.

Every year, the week before Thanksgiving, I am in Hilton head Island, South Carolina overlooking the beach. That has been my second home for 35 years.

All throughout my 20s and 30s, I traveled south to the sun since I lived in the Northeast (winters got cold).

My friends have enjoyed traveling with me and I became involved in the timeshare industry at executive level for many many years.

My encore career is as a life coach. I have a passion and commitment to help others realize their hopes and dreams.
